My Services

Family history research
Everyone's family history is unique, so my research service is bespoke, tailored to your goals and to a pre-agreed budget.

To enable me to do this I will need you to provide as much information as you have about your ancestor(s) and any research conducted to date.

I'll then perform the research, updating you regularly, and at the end provide you with a detailed report plus the supporting evidence.

So ask yourself some questions first about what you want to do, e.g.
-
Who’s story do you wish to delve into?
-
What outcome(s) do you want to achieve?
-
What is your budget?

Document research
For documents written after 1600 in English, I provide a document research service according to your specific requirement and to a pre-agreed budget, e.g.
-
locate one or more specified documents at a record office/archive
-
read and understand the document(s)
-
provide an abstract or full transcription with or without a copy of the original document(s).
Below are some of the archives I am familiar with, and I am able to travel elsewhere if needed:
-
Kent History & Library Centre
-
Canterbury Cathedral Archives
-
London Metropolitan Archives
-
Westminster Archives
-
Guildhall Library
-
The British Library
-
The National Archives

Family history tours
Would you like to see where your ancestors lived and worked – the town, village and even the actual address if known?
Let me guide you to visit the church(es) where the major events of their lives took place, the school where they studied, their place of work and maybe even their local pub! You will be able to walk in your ancestors footsteps and appreciate better the lives they led.
A personalised tour with an agreed itinerary for you – either accompanied or unaccompanied – could cover some or all of:
-
visits to the places your ancestor(s) knew
-
visits to archives/record offices to conduct your own research
-
trips to other notable attractions and places of interest.

In support of your tour I can also suggest options for:
-
travel in the UK
-
local accommodation
